To save us from our sins! God foreknew that if He created beings with Free-will, the ramifications would be deadly, and within time such free-will beings, both men and Angels, would choose to sin against God and each other. God foreknew that man would fall into sin and rebel against Him. Since God is Holy and Just, He would have to enforce a Holy and Just punishment as wages for sin, which is, death and eternal separation from God Almighty -(Rom 6:23 • Luke 13:27‐28 • Mat 25:46). But, because God so loved us -(John 3:16), He became one of us (Mat 1:21‐23 • Isa 7:14 • Isa 9:6), freely came (Luke 19:10) to forbear the payment and penalty for our sin, upon Himself, so that He could grant us pardon for our sins and spare us from eternal death and separation from Him -(1Pe 2:24 • Isa 55:7).
In addition, we must also learn that God is not only a Loving God, but that He is also, a Holy God (1Pe 1:15) who must judge sin and sinners accordingly! We cannot pick and choose who we want God to be. God has chosen to reveal ALL of Himself to us through HIS WORD the HOLY BIBLE -(2Ti 3:16). God is who He is and who are we to say otherwise? There is only ONE MEDIATOR who can declare to us, who God is, and that man is, the God-Man, Christ Jesus -(1Ti 2:5). God desires for His mercy to triumph over judgment-(James 2:13), but we rebels are mostly inclined to resist, reject and revile His mercy. God is willing that NONE should perish by turning away from our sins and turning unto Him! - (2Pe 3:9).
In loving mercy, God has decided to send His own Son as a sacrificial lamb and judge His own Son for our own sins, but if we dishonor, reject and neglect so great a salvation, we only stand to lose all, incurring His wrath and bearing the penalty for our own sins, forever -(Heb 2:3). Yes, God is both a God of Love and Holiness. God is our Judge, King, Law-giver, only Mediator and Savior -(Isa 33:22). Will you consider His offer of salvation?
God first came unto us as a humble, meek and gentle lamb, but He will one-day return to planet earth as a conquering king and a roaring Lion from the Tribe of Judah, devouring all those that opposed, rejected and doubted His Loving, merciful and kind salvation for man, to give them their just and long over-due reward -(Rev 5:5-6).
